25 Weeks Preggie

29th December 2009

I am 25 weeks pregnant now, my tummy is getting bigger and heavier. At times can feel baby moves to one side of my tummy, in fact very often baby likes to move to my right side, don't know why. When my tummy protrude one side, i will gently stroke the tummy, hope the baby can feel it :) I wonder if that is baby's head, back or buttock?

Today we went to see Doc Benjamin for routine check up. Baby is now 815gram and i have put on 9kg *faint* Doc checked baby's genital again, and he confirmed "well, the baby is still a boy" :) then he moved on to see baby's face, but baby putting his hands on his face so we can't really see his face clearly. I asked doc if KKH has 3D scan, he said yes but it costs $300 which is not worth it.. wow, 3D scan not cheap leh, normal detail scan only cost S$85.

Doc checked my urine, it seems i have some mild urine infection. I was asked to do urine test. No wonder the last few days i had urge to go toilet just to pass very little amount of urine. I was actually thinking that perhaps baby is pressing on my bladder..gosh, i really need to be more careful and understand my body better.

Next appointment is 4 weeks from now.

8th Appointment at KKH

09th December 2009

Today we went to see Prof John Tee in KKH Private Suit at 330pnm, cos our gynae Doc Benjamin Tham is away. Prof John Tee is a very quiet doctor, does not like to speak much like Doc Benjamin. There were many parents waiting outside room 3, Prof John Tee only see us for approx 5-8mins (including scan). He did not say much, just said baby is growing well, now approx 600grams, 15CM long from head to buttock.

I asked doctor why i have some pain on the right abdomen over the last two days, he said it is normal due to expanding uterus. As for the piles, well just have to live with it, the piles may get bigger or worst as the pregnancy advances to later stage. Really scary to imagine how bad it would be...

Today could not see baby clearly during the scan. Baby is facing down, swimming and busy kicking my bladder again :P

Baby Is Busy Kicking Me Now!

07th December 2009

I am now 22week pregnant.
I could feel baby moves during 18th weeks onwards, the feeling is really amazing and interesting. It was like butterfly flutters, or like bubble burst kind of feeling.

Now at 22nd week, baby's is kicking harder as he gains in weight and strength. This little naughty boy really kicks everywhere he likes to, wonder if he is practising Tiger kicks inside my tummy. Sometimes he kicks at the bladder which makes me wanna rush to toilet or feel very ticklish, sometimes he kicks me in the middle of the night to wake me up when i try to fall asleep after going to toilet, but most of the times he kicks a lot after i have taken my meals, and normally after 1opm. Gosh, don't tell me this baby is like his Daddy a night owl ah...*faint*

Sometimes baby is playing hide and seek with Daddy. He kicks me hard but when i called Daddy to come over to listen or feel his kicks, baby will pretent to keep quiet :p

胎教, 胎教... hmm, i really need to start soon. Now try to cut down on listening X Japan music :( and listen more to soft and classical music :)

All about Fathering

05th December 2009

Today we went to attend the 3rd part of the antenatal class. It was a long one from 9am to 2pm but it really leaves a deep impact in my heart, particularly on the second half of the class, the speaker from the Centre For Fathering Singapore introduced the topic on fathering.

He shared a lot of personal experience about being a father, preparation, changes and challenges faced etc etc, But towards the last part he read to everyone about a story which essentially highlight how a mother's love transformed a man to love his child the same way the mother did. My tears well up my eyes at the end, it was so touching when he repeatedly sing this simple song, emotionally.

"I'll love you forever,

I'll like you as always,

As long as i am living,

My baby you'll be"

A lot of attention has been put on mother and baby when it comes to pregancy but we should be aware too that father plays an equally important role in this journey. Fathers, too experience emotional and phychological changes throughout the entire process, only short of biological changes as compared to the mothers.

I am quite confident with the father of my baby who aims to be the hero for his son, and i know he will strive to make his son proud of him :) Daddy, 加油啊! And THANK YOU for getting me the MOZART collection of womb songs for baby.

Let's remember the way a baby spells LOVE is "T I M E", we have to spend a lot of effort and time in the future to really nurture and understand our baby well.
