30 weeks now

31st Jan 2010

Today marks the day i cross into 30week milestone. My tummy is getting bigger and heavier, sleeping comfortable at night seems to be luxury thing to dream for now. Every night i have to pee at least twice, and very often i can not sleep until one two hours later. Tummy is so hard, tight and heavy, sometimes when i walk i need to use my hand to support the tummy. Nowaday when i take trains most of the people can tell i am preggie, but very often people (especially men) choose ignore me as though i am transparent, haha, Singapore society is still not very graceful.

Baby still likes to stay on my right. And he moves much higher now all the way up to my rib cage causing breathlessness some times. Baby is still very active at night, especially between 11pm to 12mid night.
Today we went to Baby Kingdom and Baby Hyperstore at Kaki Bukit to buy baby cot. Did not find any good deal at Baby Kingdom so we moved on to next door Baby Hyperstore. The Hyperstore is packed with patrons, after rounds of negotiation, we managed to buy a natural wood color baby cot (which can be converted to junior bed), 4" latex mattress and bedding set at $459, quite happy bcos we realy squeezed the China sales girl to get that price before the shop closed for the day :P

After the purchase we went to Bedok to meet my sister Zoe. Yay, i finally got my SK-II products, this is the first time i spent so much on skin care cos i find my skin now is really in SOS stage, with darkened freckles, oily skin and dull looking skin, i need some thing that works like miracle. Hopefully SK-II can save me now......

10th Appointment

26th Jan 2010

Yay, finally 4 weeks are over and today can see doctor and baby again!
I am in my 29th week of pregnancy. Nowaday Dr Benjamin's room is equipped with 3D scan machine, i was happy for a moment, but who knows the baby did not cooperate, he covers his face with his hands again.. alas...so end up doctor only gave me one blur blur 2D photo to keep. We could not see the 3D scan clearly, only managed to see his mouth keep moving like swallowing water.

Doctor said bb haven open his eyes yet, but he weighs about 1.45Kg now. Baby's head is down. I then asked doc to confirm if the amniotic fluid and placenta are ok, he said both are normal. So as usual, Doc Benjamin being a popular doctor, his appointment is always done in 5-10mins, i take the chance to confirm with him if he is leaving KKH. He seems a bit uneasy to tell more, but he confirmed that he will deliver for me in April and he will leave in May. Thank GOD. I really don't wish to change gynae at this stage.

Just before Doc 'chased' me out, i suddenly thought of asking him about the glucost test, it seems many April MTBs have done the test but wonder how come doc Benjamin did not ask me to do. He said i am <35 years old so lower risk but i told him my father is diabetic. He quickly arranged to send me for OGTT (oral glucose tolerence test), i was asked to fast the night before and drink a cup of a very sweet clear liquid on Friday morning (29th Jan). It did not taste as awful as what i initially thought. But the dreadful part is need to draw blood twice and i lost my appetite after taking the glucose drink. The nurse advised me to walk around and be active during the waiting time before second blood withdrawal, so i went to Mothercare for shopping, bought two breastfeeding night dresses for myself :)

The next appointment will be in 5 weeks time. I am shocked cos i thought now into 3rd trimester should need to see him more often. Have called KKH to bring the appointment one week earlier on 23rd Feb.

The last two antenatal lessons on Saturday were pretty interesting. One on breastfeeding and the other on parent craft. Finally can learn how to hold baby for breastfeeding, but shame to say i did poorly, it was Geo who corrected me...haha...holding baby is an "art", baby is so soft and fragile, i hope i won't panic next time. And during the parentcraft lesson, the nurse shown us how to bath the baby and fold cloth napkin. For first time parents like me, that really helps!

Cough cough cough............

08th Jan 2010

Yeah! NewYear 2010 is here!

Geo and I stayed at home this year on the new year eve, we did not go out to view the fireworks at Marina. On 1st January i happily ordered 933 curry chicken bun, but who knows the next day i was down with fever and sore throat, and sore throat evolved to become cough.

Since Monday 03rd Jan until now i have been coughing badly, have seen 3 different doctors and took 3 days MC...geez..... Never expect cough during pregnancy can be so nasty, it puts on a lot of pressure on the anal area, as a result i have developed pile and it is bleeding causing me lots of pain and discomfort.

There are so much yellowish phlegm, oh GOD when can the cough end? Really cannot take it anymore, i have sleepless nights and tummy muscle is aching. I am so worried that the caugh would affect the baby. Baby must be pretty upset because every cough squeezes the tummy area, even though doc said baby is well cushioned by the amniotic fluid, i think the cough noise would still be disturbing to baby.

Hope i can quickly recover soon!
